Michael Brown slides back into first to avoid the out for Gastonia.

FLORENCE, S.C. — Austin Ulick went 1 for 3 and an RBI, but it wasn’t enough as Florence lost to Gastonia 7-5 in Coastal Plain League action Tuesday night.

The Grizzlies took advantage of Florence's three errors to score six runs in the top of the second inning after trailing 4-0.

Florence’s J.T. Weber's sac fly scored Eldridge Fiqueroa from third to cut Gastonia's lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth. The Grizzlies extended the lead to 7-5 on a Nathan Chevalier single to score Michael Brown.

Florence dropped its fourth straight game to be 2-7 on the season and will travel to Asheboro at 7 p.m. Thursday.
