MACON, Ga. – Four Macon pitchers held Florence to just four hits as the Bacon earned a 6-1 victory on Wednesday.

The RedWolves fell to 19-24 overall and 9-8 in the second half. Macon improved to 26-14 overall and 9-5 in the second half.

The two teams meet again today at Sparrow Stadium in Florence for a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m.

Cory Bivens hit two home runs and drove in three for the Bacon, finishing 2 for 3 with three runs scored.

Leniel Gonzales and Zach Durfee combined for all four hits with two apiece. Nathan Medrano plated the lone RedWolves’ run in the top of the ninth on a fielder’s choice.

Zach Stephenson (0-1) took the loss for Florence. He went five innings and gave up five earned runs on eight hits a strikeout and two walks.

Corey Bartholomew (3-1) got the win for the Bacon after allowing no runs on one hit with four walks and six strikeouts in four innings.
