Dylan Brewer 2019 baseball player of year

Latta's Dylan Brewer hit six home runs and won five games on the mound this season.

LATTA, S.C. --Two-time Morning News Baseball Player of the Year Dylan Brewer, of Latta, was drafted in the 32nd round today by the San Francisco Gaints.

But Brewer told the Morning News he's still headed to Clemson, where he will be a preferred walk-on for the Tigers' baseball team.

"I'm going to Clemson," Brewer said. "I made my decision earlier, I've already given (Clemson) my word."

This past season, Brewer hit .408 with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs, 28 RBI and 19 stolen bases. On the mound, he earned five wins with a 1.66 ERA in 33 2/3 innings with 60 strikeouts.
