FLORENCE, S.C. – Post 1 is exactly where it wanted to be at the start of the season come playoff time – celebrating another League II title and awaiting its second-round opponent.

Florence earned its 11th straight league crown this past week and in doing so earned the first-round bye that comes with it. At 24-3, Post 1 awaits the winner of the Manning-Santee/Lexington best of three series set to begin Wednesday. M-S is the third seed from League I and Lexington is also a No. 3 seed out of League III.

Instead, Florence will take on League III winner Camden (15-4) today at 7:30 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Friday night matchup in Sumter scheduled as well. Post 1 was also looking at possibly adding another game sometime this week.

The second round is slated for July 15-19 with series being a best three out of five. The third round, also best three out of five, will be July 22-26.

The state finals will be a four-team, double-elimination tournament held at Segra Park in Columbia – home of the Fireflies – from July 29-August 2.

The Junior Legion playoffs are set to begin today with best of three series, and nine local teams are in the field.

South Florence Blue travels to Conway for a 7 p.m. matchup with the second game slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Florence. A decisive third game will be played Thursday in Conway at 7:30 p.m. if necessary.

West Florence Green travels to Manning-Santee today for a 7 p.m. contest with the second game set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Florence. The third game is slated for Wednesday in Manning at 7 p.m.

Other matchups today include Georgetown at Marion (7 p.m.), Lake City at Chesterfield (6 p.m.), Darlington at Turbeville (7 p.m.) and Sumter at Hartsville (7 p.m.).
