TAYLORS -- The Florence Track Club continues to make it presence known in the state after it competed in the USATF Junior Olympics state meet last month

Twenty-three Florence Track Club records were broken by athletes on the team who took 10 State gold medals, 12 silver and 13 bronze.

The top 12 in each gender/age group have the opportunity to advance to the Regional competition Thursday through Saturday in Spartanburg. For the Florence Track Club, a club sponsored by the City of Florence Parks and Recreation, 76 athletes have earned the right to advance. One athlete, Kaylanna Burroughs, swept the competition by winning gold in all three of her events, duplicating the same feat her brother Kaleb did last year.

Those earning gold Burroughs in the 8-and-under girls division for long jump (3.49m), 1,500m (5:59.23), and 800m (2:59.54). Others include Alex Small (9-10 male) for the 1,500m race walk (12:52.85); Cameron Aldridge (9-10 male) for the javelin (29.02m); Ja’Marcus Williams (9-10 male) for the long jump (4.36m); Julian Duncan (9-10 male) for the 1,500m (5:32.96); 9-10 boys 4X400 team (Cameron Aldridge, Kaleb Burroughs, Julian Duncan, Harrison Howard) at 5:12.51; Cassie Hitch (11-12 female) 1,500m race walk (9:48.96); and Brailey Sloan (13-14 female) 3,000m race walk (26:24.04).

Silver-medal winners include Ellison Banner (8-and-under female) in the javelin (9.92m); Jamie Gard (9-10 female) in the 1,500m race walk (12:14.72); Julian Duncan (9-10 male) in the 800m (2:40.24); Harrison Howard (9-10 male) in the high jump (1.15m); Caelin Sloan (11-12 female) in the race walk (10:05.83); Jazmyne Lyde (11-12 female) in the javelin (25.78m), shotput (7.53m) and discus (17.13m); Kamille Cunningham (11-12 female) in the high jump (1.30m); 11-12 girls 4X100 team (Erin Brown, Kamille Cunningham, Cassie Hitch, Willanna Peterson) at 57.94; Kayla Pinkerman (13-14 female) in the 3,000m race walk (26:41.35); and Gabryelle Bittle (15-16 female) in the pole vault (1.82m).

Bronze-medal winners include Jamie Gard (9-10 female) in the high jump (1.05m); Sam Jordan (9-10 male) in the high jump (1.10m); Morgan Banner (11-12 female) in the javelin (18.25m); Kamille Cunningham (11-12 female) in the long jump (4.44m); Omaryion Boatwright (11-12 male) in the high jump (1.30m); Arthur Parham (11-12 male) in the javelin (35.21m); Savannah Jordan (13-14 female) ini the javelin (20.25m) and high jump (1.45m); Rileigh Lacy (13-14 female) in the pole vault (2.12m); Tyae McWhite (13-14 male) in the high jump (1.35m);Janie Wagner (15-16 female) in the javelin (23.49m); the 15-16 boys 4X100 (Winston Stewart, Nicholas Boatwright, JT Carroll, Kamron Todd) at 1:10.16 and and Darrian Cole (17-18 female) in the 1,500m (5:47.50).

Placing fourth were Edyn Cunningham (8-under female) in the shotput (3.39m); Hidde Verkoeijen (8-under male) in the 1,500m (6:46.96); Sanne Verkoeijen (9-10 female) in the 1,500m race walk (13:26.19); Kaleb Burroughs (9-10 male) in the 1,500m run (5:33.95) and javelin (26.37m); Omar Stewart (9-10 male) in the shotput (5.05m); Cassie Hitch (11-12 female) in the high jump (1.15m); 11-12 boys 4X100 (Omaryion Boatwright, Derrick Daniels, Kavan Reynolds, Donnell Williamson) at 58.28; Anthony SantiAnna (13-14 male) in the javelin (35.51m), and Luke Baker (15-16 male) in the pole vault (3.33m).

Fifth-place finishers were Caleb Newell (8-male) in the javelin (10.64m); Sanaa Griffin (9-10 female) in the shotput (4.06m); Jacob Gard (9-10 male) in the javelin (21.18m); 9-10 boys 4X100 team ( Klay Baker, Omar Stewart, Markis Wells, Ja’Marcus Williams) at 1:04.31; Julia Kleine (11-12 female) in the 80m Hurdles (18.48); Caelin Sloan (11-12 female) in the javelin (15.75m); Tyae McWhite (13-14 male) in the 100m hurdles (18.56); Sarah Spence (17-18 female) in the high jump (1.35m); and Jordan Lyde (17-18 male) in the 1,500m run (5:45.20) and 110m Hurdles (18.48).

Some of those listed above qualified in other events as well. In addition, those who qualified in the top 12 of their age/gender category include Jack Banner, Taylor Cunningham, Belicia Fraser, Elijah Hitch, Alexis Howle, Lillen Huiet, Michael Jones, Shaleigh Lacy, Samaria McFadden, Andrew Miller, Zane Morris, Mary Tindall Parham, Tessa Pinkerman, Kendrick Reynolds, Larissa Reynolds, Aria Sloan, Brittany Sloan, Jordan Stevenson, Osei Stewart, Thandi Stewart, Jordyn Todd, Pelle Verkoeijen, Hannah Wagner, Nikolis Wells, Daveyon Williams and Ethan Williams.
