LAKE CITY -- Alvena Eaddy Belflower, 98, wife of the late Thomas Devoe Belflower, Sr., died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.Mrs. Belflower was born on January 19, 1921 in Hemingway SC. She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Vaughan Cox Eaddy. Thomas and Alvena's four children are Bonnie Belflower Calcutt (Reverend W. H. Calcutt) of Dunn NC; Professor Betty Belflower Long of Lexington, Kentucky; Thomas "Tommy" Belflower, Jr. (Phyllis Horton) of Lake City; and Professor Alisa Belflower of Lincoln, Nebraska. Her family has grown to include nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by all her children and their children as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Lake City on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church before the service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the music programs at either Lake City First Baptist Church or Mt.
