MARION -- Mrs. Elwood Hucks Summerford McRae, 89, died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Elmcroft Assisted Living of Florence after an illness.Mrs. McRae was born January 13, 1930 in Marion County, a daughter of the late James Floyd Hucks and the late Sallie Missouri Hucks Hucks. She had retired as a cafeteria worker from the Marion County School District. She was also the beloved Avon Lady. Mrs. McRae was a member of Nebo Baptist Church.Surviving Mrs. McRae are: 2 Daughters: Joyce (Wayne) Poston of Pamplico and Jenny Tisdale of Pamplico; 3 Grandsons: Kevin (Bridget) Poston of Easley, Keith (Dori) Poston of Columbia and Jonathan (Rachel) Tisdale of Charleston; 4 Great Grandchildren: Caroline Poston, Hunter Tisdale, Charlie Tisdale and Callie Elwood Poston; a Sister: Edna (Donal) Douglas of Britton's Neck; 4 Brothers: Phillip (Sylvia) Hucks, James (Betty) Hucks and Jerry Hucks, all of Britton's Neck and Jimmy Hucks of Aynor; 2 Sisters-in-Law: Bonnie Jordan Hucks of Conway and Julia Woodberry of Florence; 2 Brothers-in-Law: Lamar Johnson of Aynor and Harold Summerford of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. McRae was predeceased by her first husband, Woodrow Summerford, her second husband, Frank Neal McRae, 2 Brothers, Floyd Hucks, Jr. and Norman "Pap" Hucks, and 2 sisters, Sallie Grace Hucks and Norma "Patsy" Johnson.The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, July 3, from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at Nebo Baptist Church.Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary of Nebo Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Pace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Gideon's International, Marion Camp, PO Box 34, Marion, SC 29571.
