FLORENCE, S.C. -- Florence-Darlington Technical College is expanding its career and workforce development program to better meet the needs of manufacturers in the Pee Dee region.

In the fall of 1949, Harold Brasington had a vision of turning an old cotton field in Darlington into a paved superspeedway for stock car racing. That vision became a reality one year later as Darlington Raceway hosted its first race on Labor Day of 1950.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Every day in Hartsville we are moving forward and progressing as a city. We are constantly growing, and people everywhere have taken note of just how amazing Hartsville is.

PAMPLICO, S.C. -- During 2018, the Pamplico Town Council continued with several major infrastructure projects that were funded by the Florence County Capital Project Sales Tax Funds, the SRF-SC State Revolving Fund and the RIA-SC Rural Infrastructure Authority Fund.

MULLINS, S.C. -- Another year (2018) came and went, and I find myself with two years left in my term to accomplish a lot of things. The citizens of Mullins have witnessed many positive changes, but more are in store. Forward progress is our focus.

MARION, S.C. -- Everybody worked hard from the Hurricane Florence cleanup. We have a new fire truck that lowered our insurance service office class rating from a four to a three.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Higher education has experienced significant changes over the past several years. The student population that we serve today does not necessarily fit the typical “college kid” persona.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- 2018 was a thrilling year for the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce. The chamber hosted many events for the Hartsville business community, including the Taste of Hartsville, Connections After Hours events, the 97th annual Membership Banquet, ribbon-cutting events, the Hartsville Community Golf Classic, the second Women’s Leadership Symposium and many luncheons on wide ranges of topics, including a First Time Homebuying Seminar and Social Media classes.

FLORENCE, S.C. -- For the past 55 years, Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) has educated students and focused on strengthening the local economy. The future of the college is bright as programs continue to grow and new projects are being completed.
