MULLINS, S.C. – Mullins High School senior Aniyah Vereen signed a national letter of intent to join the Morris College track program last month.

Vereen will head to Morris this summer on scholarship. The two-year member of the Lady Auctioneers track and field team was a lower state qualifying shot putter both years.

“It feels good,” Veeren said of the decision.

She plans to study sociology.

“It was fun being part of the team, because I like doing track,” she said.

Vereen said she plans to pursue a career as a Department of Social Services worker.

Her message to others looking to continue their education through track to work hard.

“If you show that you have talent, people will look at you,” she said. “You just have to work hard. I got a scholarship, so I took it.”
