HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- 2018 was a thrilling year for the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce. The chamber hosted many events for the Hartsville business community, including the Taste of Hartsville, Connections After Hours events, the 97th annual Membership Banquet, ribbon-cutting events, the Hartsville Community Golf Classic, the second Women’s Leadership Symposium and many luncheons on wide ranges of topics, including a First Time Homebuying Seminar and Social Media classes.

PAMPLICO, S.C. -- During 2018, the Pamplico Town Council continued with several major infrastructure projects that were funded by the Florence County Capital Project Sales Tax Funds, the SRF-SC State Revolving Fund and the RIA-SC Rural Infrastructure Authority Fund.

In the fall of 1949, Harold Brasington had a vision of turning an old cotton field in Darlington into a paved superspeedway for stock car racing. That vision became a reality one year later as Darlington Raceway hosted its first race on Labor Day of 1950.
