FLORENCE, S.C. — Because of the winter storm crossing through the Pee Dee area, several schedule changes have been made to the Francis Marion sports landscape this week.

The women's tennis match between FMU and UNC Pembroke originally set for Wednesday afternoon has been postponed. The Peach Belt Conference match will be played Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m. on the Patriots' Kassab Courts.

The women's softball doubleheader between Francis Marion and Wingate University slated for Thursday afternoon in Florence has been postponed. The twinbill will now be played on Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. at the FMU Softball Stadium.

The weather has also affected the PBC basketball schedule this week.  Both the Francis Marion men's and women's squads were to have played at the North Georgia on Thursday evening, but that doubleheader has been pushed back to Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (women) and 3:30 p.m. (men).

The Patriots will also play at Young Harris College on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. as both squads play their final road contests of the 2013-14 campaign this weekend.

It was announced on Tuesday that two FMU spring sports athletes earned PBC weekly awards for the week ending Feb. 9.  Senior right-handed softball pitcher Taylor Luff was selected as the Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week, while sophomore southpaw Daniel Barfield was named the Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week.
