CHARLESTON, S.C. – The body of Sgt. Terrence Carraway was sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy.

Interstate 26 was shut down Thursday by the Charleston County Sheriff’s office and other Lowcountry agencies as officers escorted Carraway back to the Pee Dee.

According to WCIV in Charleston, first responders, including members of Carraway's Air Force Reserve unit, lined the interstate to pay respects as the procession passed.

But Carraway’s body was not brought back to Florence. It was brought Thursday afternoon to Jackson and McGill Funeral Home on Main Street in Marion.
