MULLINS, S.C. – Pee Dee Academy graduated 35 seniors inside of a packed gym as family, friends, teachers and staff congratulated them on their final day of school.

Headmaster Hal Townsend said he was happy to see all of the faces in the crowd.

“We had a tremendous crowd,” Townsend said. “This class has their life before them and a lot to offer. It’s still their choice to do it.”

Valedictorian Sally Brown was happy to represent her class.

“It’s great and a really exciting time for all of us,” Brown said. “I’m just happy I get to represent them.”

Brown said she will miss her class.

“I will miss how close our class is,” she said. “We truly are a family.”

Brown competed several seasons for the basketball and soccer team. Sports she will miss just as much as her classmates.

Her advice to the next senior class is never giving up through adversity.
