FLORENCE - Margaret Esther DuRant Hall died Sunday, June 23, 2019, at home. Born on February 2, 1927 at "The Oaks" in the Rome Community of Williamsburg County, she was the daughter of the late Bethel and Annie Elizabeth "Bessie" Snow DuRant. She was married to the late Eugene Evey Hall, Jr. on October 10, 1953. She was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a 1948 graduate of Columbia College where she was Queen of May and a member of Alpha Kappa Gamma. She was an active member of St John's Church, Florence, South Carolina for more than 65 years. She was a member of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America and other civic and social organizations.A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at St John's Church at 252 South Dargan Street, Florence, officiated by The Very Reverend Ariel Kenneth "Ken" Weldon and The Reverend Marion DuBois "Luke" Lucas III. Burial will follow in Christ Church Cemetery at 2305 N. Williston Road. The family will receive at the home following the burial.Pallbearers will be Robert Newman Boykin, Jr., Roy Marshall Chipley III, John James Clemmons III, Henry Flinn Dargan, Jr., Bethel Carey DuRant, David Lucian Ellerbe, Thomas Ashby Gregg, Jr., Edgar Lloyd Willcox II and Elbert Stanley Willis III.She is survived by her three children: Sarah Welsh Hall Todd (Mrs. George Cameron, Jr.) of Spartanburg, Elizabeth Snow Hall Williamson of Florence, and Eugene Evey Hall III (Jennifer Ann Foy) of Columbia; her six grandchildren: George Cameron Todd III (Charlotte Graye Pelletier) of Charlotte, Margaret DuRant Williamson Charles (Mrs. Matthew Brooks) of Florence, Eugene Hall Todd (Frances Cazenove McMath) of Greenville, Burwell Boykin Clarke Todd (Anne Eliza Fite) of Jackson, Wyoming, Eugene Bennett Hall of Columbia and Athens, Georgia, and Robert Andrew Hall of Columbia and Clemson; and her four great-grandchildren: Matthew Brooks Charles, Jr., Elizabeth Snow Charles, Evelyn Maxwell Todd and Charlotte Hall Todd. She is also survived by her sister, Miss B. Elizabeth DuRant of Florence, formerly of Columbia, and her sisters-in-law: Mrs. Henry Hill DuRant of Awendaw, Mrs. Willie Snow DuRant of Myrtle Beach and Mrs. Richard Singleton of Myrtle Beach; and her nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she was pre-deceased by five brothers and one sister: John Wesley DuRant, Bethel DuRant, Henry Hill DuRant, Emmie Lottie DuRant Boykin (Mrs. Robert Newman), Willie Snow "Bill" DuRant and Itly Wilson "Pup" DuRant.Memorials may be sent to St. John's Church, 252 S.
