Please join the following events at the HARTSVILLE MEMORIAL LIBRARY on Wednesday’s beginning at 10 a.m. through July 24.

>> July 10 – Stellar stories featuring Jef the Mime with an interactive theater.

>> July 17 – Launch into Magic featuring Captain Awkwardman magic show.

>> July 24 – All Systems Go featuring ScienceSouth’s interactive show.

Preschool story time will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11 a.m.




Mark your calendars for this weekend when the SC LITTLE LEAGUE STATE TOURNAMENT comes to Blue Street in Darlington July 5 through 10. Games start at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on weeknights, at 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.




SENIOR SCENE at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center will take place on July 11 at 10 a.m. in the hospital’s education classroom. Lt. Tenyonde Richardson of the Hartsville Police Department will be speaking on crime prevention, safety tips and how to protect yourself during the summer months.



Nu Ryderz MC of Darlington, SC to host a free FOOD DONATION EVENT on July 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1490 Harry Byrd Hwy., Darlington. CareSouth will be on site to administer free health screenings. Other vendors will attend as well. Everyone's welcome and no paperwork is needed. There will be more than 10,000 pounds of free food to give away.




Do you like great gospel music? Then come on down to GOSPEL IN THE PARK SERIES on Sunday, July 14, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pride Park, 630 S. 6th St., Hartsville. A devotional service will be led by Pastor James JJ Clark II and The Wayside Baptist Church Family of Florence. Live music will be by Ernest Pearson and The Disciples, The Gospel Kings, both of Sumter, Lb and True Devine of Gaston, Dasmine Spiritual Voices of Warsaw, North Carolina, saxophonist Chris Floyd II of  Florence and more. The theme is “Bringing Unity into Our Community!” Bring your lawn chairs and an open heart. There will be lots of give-aways. This is a free outdoor event.  Everyone is welcome. A LUNCH AND LEARN event will be held at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center on July 18 at 12 p.m. in the hospital’s education classroom. Dr. Martin will be presenting on why it is so important to "know your numbers" for cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, and other health factors.
