DARLINGTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Aquarium Rovers will visit the Darlington County Library System through a grant from Duke Energy.

If you can’t visit the beach this summer to discover its wildlife, then some of its wildlife will be coming to the Library through a generous grant from Duke Energy.  The South Carolina Aquarium’s Rovers are bringing its wildlife to the Library for a free special program called “Sea Constellations” at all four library locations. 

Children will learn about marine and freshwater animals during while enjoying interactive activities with the Rovers and their animal friends.  This STEM children’s educational outreach program is part of the Library’s special summer reading and learning programming this summer.  The Rovers will be presenting “Sea Constellation” at: 

Darlington Branch     Tuesday, June 25                  10 a.m.

Hartsville Branch       Wednesday, June 26            10 a.m.

Lamar Branch            Tuesday, June 25                  2 p.m.

Society Hill Branch    Wednesday, June 26            2 p.m.

Mindy Taylor, District Manager for Government and Community Relations, presented the grant check to the library on June 18to Darlington Branch Manager Michelle Wallace, Director Jimmie Epling, and children eager to see the Rovers’ show.

Darlington Children’s Librarian Katie Jo Daniska worked with Taylor to secure the grant. “Sea Constellations” is a free, family friendly event.
