HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Valerie Haynesworth is married to Timothy Haynesworth and is the daughter of Diana Frazier. She said her grandmother, Katherine Frazier, was totally blind, but she saw others with her heart, a very strong, God-gifted, blessed prayer warrior who encouraged and helped so many people along the way. She is a graduate of Hartsville High School where she participated in band, basketball, and track. She is a graduate of South Carolina State University (SCSU) where she sang on the Concert Choir.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, focusing on business education and office occupations. She is employed by Duke Energy Progress at the Robinson Nuclear Plant as a Sr. Nuclear Plant Access Authorization Specialist. She recently celebrated her 35th-year anniversary with the company. She was also crowned Woman of the Year for the local branch of the Hartsville NAACP in 2011.

Best part of your job:  Helping, serving and encouraging others as I provide the best customer service.

Something people would be surprised to know about you? That I was fourth runner-up in Miss Hartsville High 1979, previous Miss Hartsville contestant, Miss Choir and Miss Manning Hall (SCSU), second runner-up to Miss South Carolina State University 1982-83, crowned first Miss Black Darlington County 1985 and in 1986, overall finalist and top 10 contestant in Miss Black America Pageant held at Hampton University-Hampton, Virginia, and 2011, Miss Cosmo. 

Three people, living or dead, you’d like to invite to dinner? Oprah Winfrey, Evangelist and Psalmist Jekalyn Carr  and Pastor Joel Olsteen.  Jesus is already invited!

Which living person do you most admire, and why?  I admire my mother, Diana Frazier, my mentor, a strong, gifted prayer warrior, talented and compassionate servant, musician and singer, who loves unconditionally.

What is your dream job?  It's in the making in the near future and will be shared when God determines my timing (Romans 4:17).

What is the best advice you ever received?  I'm unique, different, and anointed with God's calling on my life; be strong, remember the golden rule, never, ever give up because you are a winner in Christ Jesus.

What celebrity do you think is a good role model? Former First Lady of the U.S., Michelle Obama

What is your greatest fear? I won't speak it, God hasn't given us the spirit of fear.

What is the trait you most deplore in others? Resentful, bitterness, and evil

What is your most treasured possession? A Bible received in 1982 from the Student Government Association when crowned second attendant to Miss South Carolina State University.

What would your super power be?  Spiritual gift of healing

My idea of a perfect Saturday night is … Watching movies, reminiscing with family

If I could change places with anyone in the world for a day, it would be…I wouldn't, be yourself-who else is better qualified, learn from others and grow.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? Always room for improvement, God is working on me!

Do you remember your first job?  Working the concession stand at Washington Street Swimming Pool

Which best describes you – romantic, athletic, serious, care-free, practical joker or nerdy? Mostly serious but care-free at times.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do with your winnings? Helping and being a blessing to others.

What is your favorite season of the year?  Summer

If a movie was made about you, who would you like to play the role? Why? Yolanda Adams because she is a tall, strong, gifted, and talented psalmist who has touched audiences worldwide, even spreading the gospel.  She sang in church at age three, and I sang my first solo in church at age four, "How Great Thou Art".

What is your greatest ambition in life? As a music director, becoming a musician.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Is the glass half full or half empty? I am an Optimist. Whether full or half empty, God wonders which thirsty person we will give it to. Just be thankful to have a glass to be filled and overflowed by God (my cup overflows with God's blessings - Psalm 23:5)

If you could be granted one talent, what would it be?  Play the organ

If you could have chosen your name what would it be? My name is perfect, in Latin means "strong, works for the good of others, full of imagination, and generous with my time; attractive personality and positive attitude"
