Mamma Mia!

"Mamma Mia!" opens Friday at the Florence Little Theatre.

FLORENCE, S.C. – More than 60 million people worldwide have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make “Mamma Mia!” popular.

The Florence Little Theatre will put on nine performances of the feel-good show, starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Underwritten by Wells Fargo, “Mamma Mia!” is directed by Jumana Swindler with musical direction by Shaw Thompson.

ABBA's hit songs tell the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show featuring beloved songs “Mamma Mia,” “Dancing Queen,” “Take A Chance on Me,” “Lay All Your Love on Me” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”

The cast features Kendall Wase as Sophie, Rebecca Thompson as Donna, Shelby Lewis as Ali, Faith Hyman as Lisa, Mary Kevin Miller as Tanya, Scarlett Knight as Rosie, Cole Davis as Sky, Luke Baker as Pepper, Tripp Taylor as Eddie, Lance Weldy as Harry, Ben Daniel as Bill, Garrett Graham as Sam and Ken Kammer as Father Alexandrios.

Landon Allen, Juanita Allen, Josh Anderson, Meggie Baker, Alonzo Davis, Natalie Ellis, Megan Garrison, Breanna Gayle, Tippi Harwell, Dylan Hudson, Devin Jennings, Hannah Kingsley, Cody McKay, Nick Rose, Leranda Saverance, Frankie Sullivan, Ray Taylor, Angel Robinson-Troupe, Hanna Ward, Heather Ward, Indiana Watford and Lloyd Walker make up the ensemble.

“Mamma Mia!” will run through May 5. There will be no show Monday. All shows will start at 7:30 p.m. except for 3 p.m. matinees on the two Sunday dates.

Ticket prices for reserved seating are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $18 for students and children under 18. Tickets can be purchased by phone, in person at the FLT Box Office located at 417 S. Dargan St. in downtown Florence or at Box office hours are noon to 5 p.m. The phone number of 843-662-3731.

“Mamma Mia!” is a three-hour show that is recommended for ages 12 and up (some adult language and situations).
