As the game-winning touchdown pass from Xavier Weaver fell into Kelvin Washington Jr.’s arms with less than a minute left, Hemingway coach Ken Cribb could only describe his feelings as those of relief.

The play, with 57 seconds left, gave the Tigers a 20-14 lead and the eventual win Friday night. It brought a stunning end to Carvers Bay’s season after the Bears entered the playoffs as the top seed in the lower state.
