Ann Morris has been attending the Masters for nearly a decade, but the aura of Augusta always seems to amaze her.

"This is just a real great experience to come at least once a year," she said Thursday.

Morris has never played golf, but the Society Hill resident has been following the sport for about 20 years. It all began in the early 1990s when her husband developed an illness.

"I had to stay home to take care of him, so on Thursdays through Sundays, we watched golf.

It wasn't long before Morris fell in love with the game herself, and watching golf soon became a family tradition.

Several years ago, Morris and her husband made their first trip to the Masters.

"Oh it was just heaven," Morris said about her first trip to Augusta. "Because I'd been watching it for years, and really didn't know a lot of golf, never played a game in my life, but I love it."

Her husband has since passed away, but the family tradition lives on. Her son, George, often makes the annual trip with her now.

"That's something that we were able to do together," said George, who added that they didn't get to go out and do as much during his father's sickness. "So now (it) kind of makes up for lost time."

Ann Morris attends just one round of the Mssters each year, but it's a day that has few rivals on her calendar.

"When I want a vacation I go to Florida," Morris said "Butt this is the highlight of my year."
