FLORENCE — The Florence RedWolves announced the signing of a pair of right-handed pitchers this week.
The ‘Wolves picked up sophomore Ryan Leach from Franklin Pierce University and sophomore Lou Trivino from Slippery Rock (Pa.) University, according to general manager Jamie Young.
“Both pitchers come from highly regarded Division II programs,” Florence coach Jared Barkdoll said. “Both pitchers will be main parts of our team’s success this season.”
Barkdoll said Leach is a side-arm pitcher who will be used in the Florence bullpen as a short reliever, or possibly a closer.
“I am expecting him to be the type of arm that can bridge the gap between our starting pitchers and our closer,” Barkdoll said.
Barkdoll said he expects Trivino to be one of the team’s starting pitchers.
“I expect him to give the RedWolves a chance to win every time he steps on the mound,” Barkdoll said.
Reserved-seat season tickets are still available. Season box seats for the 28-game home season are $135.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the RedWolves at 843-629-0700.
