Byerly Park said goodbye to little leaguers on Thursday and will welcome the ladies of the ISA Girls Fast Pitch Tournament.

The tournament begins today at 8 a.m. and will finish Sunday afternoon.

The tournament will feature 37 different teams in five different age groups. There will be young ladies throughout the state ranging in age from eight to 16.

This event is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and all ISA proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Society in memory of Jennings “Mr. Red Fox” Smith.

Representatives from the American Cancer Society will be present to accept donations from anyone who wishes to give.

“We would love to see a huge turnout for this great event,” Ryan Lesesne, S.C. State UIC, said. “Not only are donations going to a great cause, but there will be some great softball played as well.”
