COLUMBIA (AP) _ Democrat Michael Cone says he won’t challenge the results of an upcoming automatic re-count in his U.S. Senate primary bid.

Cone said Wednesday he’ll let the results stand once they’re done. For now, he trails Bob Conley by less than 1,000 votes and says his party may have nominated a Republican.

Conley once ran for the Indiana Legislature as a Republican and supported Ron Paul in the GOP primary in January.

State officials say a recount will likely take place Monday.

The winner will face Sen. Lindsey Graham, who easily won the GOP primary.

Conley didn’t immediately respond to an interview request Wednesday.
