Four candidates — two Democrats and two Republicans — are running for two at-large city council seats open this fall.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain is making his first campaign stop in North Carolina in several months. McCain will hold a town hall-style event Monday at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.

Marvin Rogers is trying to scale a political hill that few others would attempt to climb. Rogers is a black Republican, running to fill an open York County House seat held by black Democrats for more than 30 years.
