Three men were arrested Friday after two separate armed robberies at motels on U.S. 52 and Interstate 95, Florence County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brett Camp said.

Johnny Rashad Johnson and Tarrence Laron Jordan, both 19 and from Darlington, and Shakim Keith Williams, 20, of Florence, are charged with multiple counts of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping, Camp said.

The suspects are accused of committing two robberies — one July 2 and one July 4 — holding both victims at gunpoint, forcing them into their motel bathrooms and taking cash, credit cards, a cell phone and a camera, Camp said.

The suspects were caught several hours after the second robbery when a Florence police officer spotted them at a restaurant, Camp said.

Neither of the victims were physically harmed.

The suspects are being held without bail as additional charges are expected to be filed Tuesday, Camp said.
