Police officers are searching for a man who robbed the Pee Dee Federal Credit Union on Monday afternoon, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after handing a teller a threatening note, Raines said.
There were eight employees and no other customers inside during the robbery, and no one was injured, Raines said.
The suspect entered the credit union, located at 305 Pine St., at 12:47 p.m. He had his hand under his shirt and indicated he was armed, Raines said.
The suspect, a black man who stands about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds, was wearing a black “Army of One” hat with a yellow bill, a white T-shirt with a cartoon character on the front, jeans and white sneakers, Raines said.
Police patrolled the surrounding area after the robbery, while the crime scene unit gathered evidence, including surveillance video from the credit union, Raines said.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the police department at (843) 665-3191 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at (843) 667-TIPS (8477) or (866) 369-TIPS (8477). Callers need not reveal their identities.
