Police have linked a recovered stolen car to a burglary Wednesday at a home under renovation in Marion, but still are searching for a suspect, Marion Police Lt. Farmer Blue said.
The crime happened at 402 Mceachern Heights early Wednesday morning when someone went into the residence and took about $3,000 in tools, Blue said.
Later that day, Florence County sheriff’s deputies recovered a car near Francis Marion University that had been reported stolen in Marion at about 2 a.m., he said.
Investigators later discovered that car had sawdust and other items in it that could link it to the burglary, Blue said.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the police department at (843) 423-8616 or Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at (843) 667-TIPS (8477) or (866) 369-TIPS (8477). Callers need not reveal their identities.
