A Olanta man was arrested Friday after deputies said he and an accomplice broke into a home and stole valubles, including a bottle of wine, Florence County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Camp said.
Marcus Antwan Holmes, 18, of 595 S. Hood St., is charged with second-degree burglary, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.
The incident happened at an Olanta home where deputies said two people broke in to the home and took jewelry, an iPod and a bottle of wine.
Deputies were able to return the jewelry to the owner, but the bottle of wine wasn’t recovered, Camp said.
Deputies know the identity of the second suspect and expect to have him in custody soon, he said.
Holmes remains in custody at the jail in Effingham, but bond information wasn’t available at press time.
