Former magistrate’s office employee accused of fraud

State Law Enforcement Division Pee Dee Region agents have arrested a former administrative assistant for the Williamsburg County Magistrate’s Office accused of misappropriating public funds.
Ronnie Kalanda Richardson, 31, of 1440 Thompson Drive, Manning is been charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, according to a SLED press release. The crime is a felony punishable up to five years in prison and a fine at the discretion of the court.
The SLED investigation was requested by Williamsburg County Sheriff Kelvin Washington, according to the release.
According to arrest warrants, Richardson is accused of taking $1,400 in bond money between January 2007 and February 2008 for personal use while employed as an administrative assistant for the Williamsburg County Magistrate’s Office. The funds were supposed to go the Williamsburg County bond court, and she was responsible for collecting and depositing the money.
