A former Florence tattoo artist faces charges of taking money for his personal use while working for a local tattoo business, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
John Vernon Black, 47, of 5809 Chaucer Drive in Hanahan faces one count of breach of trust with fraudulent intent, according to Florence County booking reports.
Black, who worked at Freedom Tattoo from Aug. 4 to Sept. 25, is accused of charging customers the full price for tattoos and recording lower payments on deposit slips, Raines said.
The investigation thus far has determined about $460 is missing from the business, Raines said.
Black was arrested Wednesday in Moncks Corner and on Thursday was released on a $2,000 surety bond from jail in Effingham.
