Florence woman arrested on prostitution charge

A Florence woman was arrested after deputies said she solicited sex to an undercover deputy, Florence County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Camp said.
Regina Adams Dixon, 41, of 2834 Poorfarm Road is charged with first-offense prostitution and pedestrian under the influence, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.
Deputies were investigating suspicious activity reported at Pine and South Dargan streets in Florence on Tuesday when the suspect approached an undercover officer and offered to perform various sexual acts for $20, Camp said.
Adams was released Wednesday from the jail in Effingham after posting bail, detention center records show.

To the previous poster, Relax! Crime has been a problem on Dargan St. for a long time, but it sounds like the Police are very active in the area. I’d hate to think that someone would be scared off from FLT’s wonderful shows because someone had been arrested in the area. I’d be more concerned with areas that don’t have regular patrols. You can’t live life in fear.

Isn’t this the corner near the new Florence Little Theater? Wasn’t it just in the news two days ago about 3 other people being arrested for soliciation of sex (prostitution) in the same area? What will the city police and the FLT do to make sure people attending plays aren’t approached by prostitutes after the shows are over? How safe will we be with this type activity going on? Will drugs soon follow once the FLT is open and the users see the full parking lot as a free ticket to drugs by panhandling for money with lame excuses…I had planned on going to see some of the productions when the FLT opens but now I’m not so sure I’ll feel safe when I leave.
