A Florence man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a string of burglaries, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

Anthony Dwaine Mack, 37, of 1813 Fireball Lane is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, Florence County Detention Center booking reports show.

Police say that on May 4, the suspect went to Crusader Rent to Own on Hoffmeyer Road in Florence, removed the glass from one of the doors and took a television from inside, Raines said. The suspect broke into that business again May 9 and took another television.

Mack also is a suspect in a burglary that happened exactly one year before the May 9 incident, Raines said.

Police say the suspect in that case broke into a Florence realty, took a plasma television from the wall and fled the scene, Raines said.

Mack remains in custody at the jail in Effingham on a $50,000 surety bond.
