A Florence man was arrested after a two-day domestic dispute in which he kidnapped his girlfriend and damaged the inside of her home, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
Carmicheal Flowers, 54, who police said had been living with his girlfriend at 803 Dixie St., is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, kidnapping and two counts of malicious injury to property, according to Florence County Detention Center booking reports.
Flowers assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to kill her Thursday night at her home, Raines said. Flowers later placed several knives and a gun on a bed and made his girlfriend clean up a mess from a lamp he had broken with a baseball bat, Raines said.
The victim tried leaving, but Flowers wouldn’t let her, Raines said. Police arrested Flowers after he broke several items and did significant damage to the home Friday, Raines said. The girlfriend wasn’t home at the time.
Flowers remained in jail Sunday with bail set at $50,000, according to the Florence County Detention Center.
