Florence County sheriff’s deputies arrested three men this morning in connection with two armed robberies in the area.
According to Lt. Brett Camp with the sheriff’s office, Shakim Williams, Tarrence Jordan, and Johnny Johnson are each charged with two counts of armed robbery. Camp says more charges may follow.
He says they are responsible for two motel robberies that happened in the early morning hours of Friday, July 4th.
The first happened about 1 a.m. at the Super Value Inn on TV Road. The second at the Super 8 along I-95.
According to victims, Camp says the three men followed them to their rooms, forced them inside, and into their bathrooms. That’s when the suspects robbed the victims.
One of the victims thought the men were in a red Toyota, so police and deputies were on the look out for that car.
A Florence police officer spotted the car about 4 a.m. on David McLeod Blvd. in Florence.
Deputies believe the three men may be responsible for other armed robberies in the area.
