Police have arrested a man and his father in connection with a domestic incident involving a gun, Darlington Police Capt. Danny Watson said.
Kevin Nettles, 31, of 409 Juleswood Drive in Darlington faces charges of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, aggravated criminal domestic violence, and simple assault, Watson said.
Nettles is accused of assaulting the mother of his child at an apartment on the 200 block of Shuler Street and threatening the woman with a gun, Watson said.
His father, 54-year-old Jessie Nettles Jr. of the same address, was charged Friday as an accessory after the fact to a felony. Watson said the man interceded by taking the gun from his son before both men fled, but wouldn’t tell police where the weapon or his son were.

Why is it fathers will lie to cover their son’s crimes? Even men who are praised for being “such a good Christian’, will lie quickly and not blink an eye while they deliberately lie even in a court of law. Under oath!
Been there, seen that!
Thank God there are really good men out here in this screwed up place who do not believe it right to carry out violence and meanness to keep a “woman in her place”. There exists, some men who see their mates as someone to cherish and be good to; not put here to be someone’s possession or robot.
There even exist men, who treat women as something to cherish and listen to. In turn they get back the respect and care they demonstrate.
You abusers BETTER listen up, women are not punching bags or targets. You break them now and they may just stand back up to you without the fear that has always been instilled in us. Maybe one day it will not be so hard for women to receive the help they need in this world. Maybe the law will stop making victims have to jump through so many hoops just trying to get protection for themselves.
