Majority Whip Jim Clyburn was in the Pee Dee Wednesday to discuss climate change problems and energy conservation. Clyburn and other politicians from around the state spoke at a press conference at the Clemson Pee Dee Research Center off Pocket Road.
Clyburn says problems with climate change and other environmental issues are magnified for African Americans. He says one the most important steps if finding a fuel alternative
“We’ve got to think about our environment. We’ve got to think about our national security. We’ve got to think about new, green economies, and we’ve got to get serious about pursuing all of them,“ Clyburn said.

Why are the issues magnified for blacks? I don’t know about that, but I’m white and it sure is hot as heck to me. Clyburn loves to make a racial issue out of anything. First of all, I don’t believe in global warming, and second of all Clyburn is full of something that they won’t let me post on here. Sometimes you can find it in a cow field.

Thank you, Kevin, for your article.
I also attended the press conference which I thought had a lot of energetic speech inviting (and almost begging) every part of our population to get into the conversation and address climate change. It’s how we can increase our quality of life by increasing the quality of the environment around us.

For these reasons, and possibly Congressman Clyburn will like to see this one, the Planning Services division of Florence County created the Planning blog. The goal of the blog is to get more people involved in the process: a venue to share new planning objectives and offer a venue for public feedback on County planning policies.

Visit the forum to view pictures from the press conference and comment on how their statements may direct public policy:

Wow what a visionary he is its a wonder that no one else has been able to think as deeply as this statesman.  Pretty soon he may find a way to get a man on the moon.
