The Second Chance K9 Rescue of the Pee Dee will hold a pet adoption from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ashley Furniture/Hobby Lobby in Florence. A variety of dogs and puppies will be available. They will have been recently bathed, and each adopted dog will be go home with a lead and a starter bag of food.
The Second Chance K9 Rescue of the Pee Dee is a no-kill rescue for dogs and puppies from the county pound and off the streets of Florence and surrounding areas. It consists of many foster homes in the Pee Dee and relies on adoption fees and donations for animal care. Dogs older than six months are already spayed or neutered and up-to-date on all their shots. Puppies will be up-to-date on all their shots and deworming, and some will already have been spayed or neutered. State law requires all animals adopted from a shelter, pound and/or rescue be spayed or neutered.
Volunteers are always needed. For more information, e-mail Ann at or Carol at .
