Pembroke police canceled a state-wide Amber Alert after finding a 3-month old boy safe after investigators say a man took the child from a gas station Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say 31-year-old Alex Locklear took little Zaccheus Clark from the Kangaroo Citgo gas station on West Third Street in Pembroke. Police were able to locate the child in a stolen car off Lakewood Drive, not far from the Laurinburg-Maxton airport in Robeson County Thursday evening.
Police tell News13 Locklear is a convicted felon who spent time in prison, and has several warrants out for his arrest.
Authorities continue their search for Locklear, who is not related to the child, Thursday night.
No word from police about charges Locklear may face.
