‘Officer down’ call part of training exercise

An initial call heard over police scanners about an officer down in Florence early Thursday evening turned out to be part of a training exercise.
The call came across scanners about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and was part of mock training with the Florence Police Department’s Explorer program, Maj. Carlos Raines said.
No one was injured and there was no actual police incident, Raines said.
