Talkin’ Trash kicks off

The Horry County Solid Waste Authority’s Talkin’ Trash recycling contest kicks off this week.  Talkin’ Trash is a monthly contest in which Horry County in which Horry County schools compete to see who can recycle the most material.  While the program is focuses on teaching fourth graders the importance of recycling and protecting the environment, all students benefit from the program because the winning school each month gets a new computer.  October is newspaper and magazine month.  Schools will recycle a different item each month throughout the school year.  For more information, visit http://www.solidwasteauthority.org.
