The seven people charged with killing Alan D. Smith of Conway in April that shut down two college campuses, will face a judge for a bond hearing Thursday.
The seven people are charged with the armed robbery and murder of Alan D. Smith on April 14, 2008 at a home on Barberry Lane.
Six of the seven face murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and burglary charges.
Investigators charged 23 year old Donell Lamont Dewon James of Conway, 18 year old Tanheshia Prosha of Conway, 21 year old Gregory Antonio Floyd, 18 year old Tiffany Quinasia of Conway, 21 year old Ladorrean Chukell Collington, and 27 year old Quintin Lavont Gause of Conway with murder, armed robbery, burglary, kidnapping charges.
US Marshal’s Service deputies arrested Gause at a home in Lithonia, Georgia nearly two weeks following the murder and after county investigators issued a warrant for his arrest.
Authorities initially charged Tanheshia Smith with failing to report the plot to kill Alan Smith before the killing, but upgraded the charges against her after investigators got more information from the co-defendants, according to police.
A county magistrate set Smith’s bond at $10,000 on the charges, but she remains jailed pending a bond hearing on the murder charge.
One suspect, 19 year old Andrew James IV of Conway faces accessory before the fact to a felony charges.
Investigators said James provided the group with the shotgun used to murder Smith and also drove the group over to the Barberry Lane home the day of the killing.
A county magistrate denied all bond at hearings days following the arrests on the charges, and all seven have remained jailed at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center since.
No word yet on trial dates for the Conway 7.
