NORTH MYRTLE BEACH—One person walked away uninjured from an emergency landing near Grand Strand Airport in North Myrtle Beach this afternoon.
According to North Myrtle Beach spokesperson Nicole Aiello, it happened at about 2:30 p.m.
The plane came to a rest just north of the runway near Tom Collins Road, right along the Intracoastal Waterway.
According to Aiello, the pilot said the engine quit, and he had to land quickly.
Witnesses say the pilot put the plane down with very little trouble in the waist-high grass.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.
