A North Carolina man is facing charges after police say he stabbed his friend in a Myrtle Beach motel room.

Police say they were called to the Sea Cruz Motel on North Ocean Boulevard early Monday morning.

They found a man who had been stabbed multiple times.

According to a police report, witnesses told police a group of people were drinking in one of the rooms and 18 year old James Patrick Capps, Jr. of Liberty, NC went outside and had been creating a disturbance.

The motel manager reportedly told the group if it happened again, they would be kicked out of the room.

The victim told police when Capps tried to leave the room again, he tried to stop him and the two started fighting.

Police say Capps stabbed the victim in the back before other friends and the motel manager separated them and took the knife.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.  Capps faces charges of assault and battery with intent to kill.
