Three friends in Myrtle Beach traveled to Quito, Ecuador to work with at-risk children and teens there, and it’s the focus of their first documentary, “The Silly Side of Serious.”
Carl Kerridge and Jessica Durivage of the Global Awareness Project, a non-profit agency, teamed up with Thomas Hart of Hart Media to make the film. In addition to documenting the work they did in Ecuador, they say the film features people in South Carolina and the roles they play in our local communities and in our global community. They say it also features the work of service organizations here.
“The Silly Side of Serious” premieres Wednesday, November 12th at the Strand Film Festival at the Myrtle Beach IMAX Theater. The festival starts at 7pm. For more information, or to purchase tickets, you can call 843-333-1212 or 843-467-9238.
