A mother and child are back home following an Amber Alert search by authorities from South and North Carolina.  Brunswick county Police arrested Marco Vaught last night and charged him in the kidnapping of his wife and daughter, Evette and Naima.

While Evette was telling us about her experience, she mentioned Naima didn’t grasp all that happened.

“She really didn’t understand what was going on, but she wasn’t scared at all.  But my son and oldest daughter; I think they were the most scared because everything happened so fast.”

Evette says she filed a restraining order against Marco, and he’s in jail awaiting a bond hearing.  She also said there are 2 other men who were involved with her abduction.

“My husband he said he wasn’t going to run, so he didn’t run.  And there was no harm done to me or my daughter.  The only thing I was thinking about was her and my safety as well.”

Evette also hopes others can learn from her experience.

“If you’re in a situation to a point you are constantly being abused over and over, just get out while you can.  And especially when kids are in the middle of it, just get out of it.”

Evette is thankful she, Naima and the rest of her family can be together again.  She’s grateful to the people in Loris and all the way to Brunswick County.

Evette says she’ll go to court in Conway on the 29th to finalize the restraining order against her husband Marco.

Im very close to the family involved in these events. I also know that there is major deception and lies being told on Marco Vaught. This is a hard working man and loves his children. He even provides for one of his wife’s kids that he didn’t father. The scope needs to be zoomed in on the the wife that left the family on multiple times, also exposing her children to drug activity.  What kind of mother is she.  Im a man too and i will not subject my kids to drugs. So really, the truth is what needs to come out.

I have intentionally stayed away from news today, I was getting too involved. From a passion made to grow to never see abuse happen again, if I can help it, as to Miriam and the couple in Sumter, and so many survivors.
What a nightmare wide awake!
I REALLY HOPE THIS WAS NOT USED AS SOME KIND OF STUNT!
It would take a low person to use something so many of us are trying to stop that truly happens every day.
If this is NOT what it has been called, I would dare say that it will be investigated.
Hope this was not a hoax,
because if it was,
it involved all of us and could hurt more who are truly abused in so many ways.
Many work too hard to stop it and break the cycles for anyone to use that excuse for any reason.

I get that the husband is a loser, but I was reading somewhere that the mother is no better. It is alleged that she was exposing her children to people using drugs. I would really like to know if there is any truth to this. I would say there is little doubt that there is more to this story. So come on Bashad Midani, how about uncovering the real story. It might take some real effort on your part but isn’t that what journalism is all about.

We are grateful you made it out safely. You are alive and can speak of it. Don’t be so sure tho that your child Naima, wasn’t traumatized in some way.
God bless your family.
