DEU agents make drug bust in Conway

Four people were arrested Wednesday following a drug investigation by the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), according to a release.
DEU agents conducted the investigation after receiving a complaint of marijuana trafficking in Conway, the release said.
The release goes on to state, during a traffic stop DEU canine Jari positively alerted agents of marijuana inside the vehicle targeted in the investigation.
Agents seized 6,900 grams (15 pounds) of marijuana, a semi-automatic handgun, an enclosed utility trailer and an undetermined amount on cash, the release said.
Authorities charged Thomas Covert with distribution of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and trafficking marijuana in close proximity of a school.
Along with Catherine Marcellino, charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within close proximity of a school and trafficking marijuana.
And, Alexander Ewald charged with trafficking marijuana within close proximity of a school.
The fourth person arrested, Sean Marshall charged with simple possession of marijuana.
Three of the suspects were taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
