Conway Police said a train derailment forced the closure of Country Club Road on Thursday.

Officers continue to investigate the cause.

A total of eight cars were off the tracks Thursday afternoon, with seven of those on the ground next to the tracks. An engine from Mt. Tabor pulled the cars away from the site, so police could re-open the road by 5:00 p.m.

According to railroad officials, it will take several weeks to clean up the scene and repair the damaged rails.
