Bikers had different experiences this time around at the 2008 fall rally.
Myrtle Beach City Council passed some new ordinances, while some others won’t take affect until later this year. All of the ordinances are just in effect inside Myrtle Beach city limits.
Some say they were caught off guard, others say they were ready.
Regular rally-goer Ashley Eaves of Greensboro, NC, says, “I was shocked really, I didn’t know it would be going on…We want to come back just to prove them wrong. We can have fun and everything’ll be fine, so if we don’t come back then that’s letting them win.“
John Fetzner of Erie, Pa., says the shop he works at received an email, notifying him and his friends about some of the changes.
He says, “So far we all rode together and didn’t see any problems or have any lack fun. We had a good time while we were here, and I’d like to come back again.“
Some workers at the Harley Davidson Store on Kings Highway say they noticed less vendors at this year’s fall bike rally.
Eaves says she noticed less people this year than in years past.
