It’s been just over a year since HB Spokes was the site of a devastating fire that wiped the business out before it had a chance to serve its fall bike rally patrons. They’ve rebuilt, and are ready to get back in the action of being a part of the fall rally.
This past summer was bittersweet for those who work at HB Spokes. They re-built and say they were able to re-open in time for the May bike rallies, but a short time after the rallies, owner William “Larry” Fowler lost a battle to cancer and passed away.
Now, workers and regulars notice that the weekend before this year’s fall bike rally, they’re aren’t as many people. Management says that it’s mostly because of the economy, and don’t really know how much of an impact the City of Myrtle Beach’s newly passed ordinances will have.
However, they do expect a big turnout for this year’s fall rally.
