Boat parade highlights Independence Day in Murrells Inlet
Hundreds of boaters were on the water for the 26th annual Murrells Inlet boat parade. The boats were decorated with American flags and lots of red, white, and blue.

Horry County opens new bridge, moves on to more road projects
Horry county officials unveiled the new Fantasy Harbour Bridge with a ribbon cutting Wednesday. Now that one project has been checked off more road construction projects are next in line. Those projects are paid by the of the “Ride on a Penny” sales tax hike that voters approved a couple of years ago.
Horry County woods fire contained
Firefighters have contained a woods fire in Horry County that started around 1 p.m. Wednesday when a commercial truck driving down SC 31 lost a tire and sparks from the axle ignited several small fires along SC 31.
Horry County police arrest, charge man in Little River murder
Officers arrested 57-year-old Thomas Edward Shipplett of Ash, North Carolina, and charged him with murder. He is currently at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
